The opening of the "Tradition Meets Modernity" Children's Art Exhibition at the Portsmouth Square Garage in Chinatown was recently launched. This annual art competition showcases the incredible talent and creativity of young artists aged 4 to 16 from the Bay Area.

APAFSS Kickstarts Mayor's Youth Employment & Education Program (MYEEP) for Summer 2024
For several years, APAFSS has partnered with JCYC to run the MYEEP in Visitacion Valley. Throughout the year, we have over 30 high school students participating in our MYEEP. This summer, we're excited to have over 70 high school students joining our summer MYEEP. Participants have started their comprehensive Pre-Employment Training and are now getting ready to start working.
Enriching Cultural Experience for Our Families
We were thrilled to provide some tickets to our families for the powerful "Soul of the City" performance at the Presidio Theatre held on June 2. This multimedia music drama, blending Japanese, Chinese, and Afro-Asian theatrical forms, took our families on a poignant journey exploring the Asian American experience

We had a wonderful time at our "Make Your Own Fortune Cookie" event, thanks to the generous support of Golden Gate Fortune Cookies! Our families and kids had a blast crafting their own personalized fortune cookies.
Celebrating AAPI Heritage Through the Arts
In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, we hosted a special movie screening and panel discussion for our APAFSS community. Families joined us for a viewing of the heartwarming Hong Kong film "The Lyricist Wannabe" - part of the acclaimed CAAMFEST film series.
